The EPSRC Scholarships are available for National and International PhD Students in the fields of Actuarial Science, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, Computing Science, and Statistics at the University of Kent, United Kingdom.

The Fellowships are comprised of a PhD allowance that is the same as the UK Research Councils’ national minimum PhD allowance of £15,609 for 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 (TBD), for a duration of three and a half years, tuition at the national tuition level and exposure to other research related support funds. 

Eligibility requirements: 

In order to be considered for admission, applicants must have shown academic merit and exceptional research capability. Available to domestic and foreign students, including students from the European Union.

Supporting Documents: 

Applicants are required to provide a rationale for their proposed studies or an outline of their research project, the details or proof of their credentials, two academic references, and other personal information and supporting documentation. 

Conditions of Language: 

In order to be accepted into the university, students are required to demonstrate English scores. 

Admission Requirements: 

Applicants must meet the admission requirements. Candidates are required to possess, or anticipate receiving, a first or second class honors degree in a relevant subject, and ideally a master’s degree or equivalent. 

  • Students applying for a postgraduate degree should normally hold a UK first or second class honors degree in a relevant or appropriate subject or an equivalent degree from an internationally recognized institution. 
  • However, all applicants are considered on an individual basis and additional qualifications, as well as professional qualifications and experience, will also be taken into account when considering applications.
